    Our choco reality // Sometimes all you need is cho Our choco reality // Sometimes all you need is chocolate filled with loads of fruits & nuts.

This is a crossover between Sharp Sharp x van newstrøm, so that we can also bring you our beloved vegan recipes that we make for ourselves on the road. When we build our van in which we're currently traveling Europe, we made sure that it can also be our mobile bakery. With enough space to make our favourite choco bars, wherever we are & to bring our organic & fair-trade ingredients as well. 

Back to the choco topic: The most important ingredient is finding cocoa liquor or sometimes called cocoa mass. It's 100% pure cocoa ground directly from the cocoa beans without anything added therefore you can make the chocolate mixture that suits your personal taste or needs.

Recipe for choco bars

250 gr Cocoa liquor
65 gr Cocoa butter
1/4 tsp ground vanilla 

65 gr Maple syrup

175 gr Dried fruits
( such as raisins, dried raspberries, apple, apricots, cranberries )

400 gr nuts & seeds
( such as walnuts, almonds, pistachios, sunflower & pumpkin seeds )
Feeling extra spicy, roast 1 or 2 chili pepers finely sliced with the nuts as well.

Roast the nuts in the oven - 140 C - 5-10 min. 

Melt the cocoa mass / butter, au Bain Marie ( in a separate bowl, on a pan with hot water )
Add the vanilla to the bowl
When everything is melted, take the bowl from the pan, add the maple syrup, stir well until mixed.
Set aside but don’t let the mixture get too cold.

Mix the roasted nuts & seeds, with the fruits, make sure to set aside 150 gr for decoration.
Poor the choco over the nuts & fruits mixture, with a spatula stir until everything is covered in choco.

Line a baking tin with baking paper, A tin from 24 x 24 cm or similar dimensions will do.
Add the chocolate mixture to the tin and apply some pressure to the layer to make sure it forms a solid bar of choco. ( Tip: use extra baking paper, and use a small rolling pin or spatula to apply more pressure ) 
Finalise the bar with the decoration that you set aside.

Let it cool for 30 min. in your fridge. 
With a sharp knife cut into smaller pieces.

The most delicious of our x-mas cakes from the past years, made with chocolate, pistachio, strawberry, creamy oats & loads of almonds. And of course warm x-mas spices such as cinnamon and clove. 
She will be missed this year, but hopefully next x-mas there will be a x-mas special again.

    Ready for a glimpse, into our plant bakery, featur Ready for a glimpse, into our plant bakery, featuring our beloved cakes? A small teaser of what we’re going to share with you the coming months.

We’re going to bring you a lot of video’s, filled with everything we made in our bakery, why we do what we do, how we develop our cakes and what we’re going to do next. 

We hope to inspire you, show you how we work and answer all your questions as well. 1 question that’s probably on a lot of peoples minds: why did we close our successful bakery after 11 years?

The answer is a bit long and needs a lot of explaining, but we can tell you this, we needed to find a way to make our company ready for the future and in order to do that we needed time. Time we didn’t have because we were working in our bakery.  It’s like the dilemma of the chicken and the egg, what to do first.

So a very scary step that hopefully brings us forward and towards a more sustainable future for sharp sharp filled with beautiful and delicious cakies.

We know we have been very quiet, not because we fled the country because of fans chasing us for the last Sharpies ;) 
but because we have been fulltime building and finishing our Campervan ( more about our Vannie later ) 
 
July 15th, we finally left for our road trip through Europe for at least 6 months. 4 months in and we’re ready to share it all ^_^
Living, working, baking, cooking, creating and figuring out what the next steps will be. Curious? Follow our journey on our other instagram account >> @vannewstrom <<. 

On this Sharp Sharp account (sneak peak in the stories ), we will be uploading a lot of content that we filmed in our bakery since January ( we still need to edit up to 5 TB of raw material, its a fun ingredient, less sticky but more work to form into something beautiful ) It’s always weird listening and watching yourself on video ^_^ 

And we will share all the details about our new journey, our dreams and why we decided to close our bakery this year. And most importantly a behind the scene of how we’re working on continuing Sharp Sharp in the future, it’s a puzzle for sure, but we love a challenge.

    Yesterday we handed in the key of our unit in the Yesterday we handed in the key of our unit in the @robinfoodhub. Our bakery is packed and in storage, taking a break as well. 

But first a huge huge thank you to all of you, who made our goodbye so memorable, filled with so much love as well as tears and sharing of beautiful memories. Thousand times thank you from our hearts. 

This week we will come back to the messages and emails that we left unanswered in these past weeks of running around and working round the clock. 

Hopefully you still enjoy your last sharpies and cherish the beautiful memories as well.

    So here is a message from the bakery, we are bit s So here is a message from the bakery, we are bit silent but super busy and we just finished making almost  1000 pieces • My darling rose • cakes today and we still need to make 2910 pieces of other cakes this week to finish all the orders. We want everyone to enjoy Sharp Sharp for as long as possible and we know a lot of you already stacked your freezers with our goodies. 

These last weeks have been chaotic, busy, sad and happy at the same time with so many of you coming over and sharing the cake love. We are getting ready for our last event ever (probably) this Saturday, which will be at our production site  @robinfoodhub @fruitpacking.district .
